KSHV workshop has been postponed to 2021 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

On behalf of the organizing committee of the 23rd International Conference on Kaposi’s Sarcoma Herpesvirus (KSHV) and Related Agents, it is with deep regret that we inform you that, due to the outbreak of CoVID-19, the meeting in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania scheduled for late June 2020 has been postponed to 2021.

The meeting will now convene next year, June 21 – June 24, 2021 at the same venue in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.  The revised information is available at the meeting website: https://ksvirus.org

This is not a decision that the organizing committee took lightly. We have been in contact with Dr. Subhash Verma, the organizer of the 24th International Conference on KSHV and Related Agents in Reno/Tahoe, who confirmed that he is able to postpone the Conference to 2022 accordingly. We have also been in contact with many of the stakeholders who were universally supportive of the postponement decision. Our highest priority is placed on the health and safety of all attendees in addition to having a vigorous and well-attended meeting. We appreciate your continuous support and interest in this regard.

All registration fees will be returned and all abstracts deleted.

The hotel will refund all reservations. If you have difficulties, please e-mail us.

If you already made flight reservations, most airlines have waived change fees and should be able to provide you a refund or the ability to use the ticket for other travel once CoVID-19 abates. Alternately, since the newly scheduled 2021 meeting is now within 12 months of the original flight date, you should be able to defer the purchase, even for non-refundable tickets, to use for next year’s KSHV meeting travel.

We are grateful to the NCI, who awarded a meeting grant and to our other sponsors, their support and sponsorships will also be deferred to 2021.

Please feel free to e-mail us with any concerns or questions. We appreciate your understanding and support.
